The minimum age to rent a car with Selfdrive depends on the type of car. Economy or Compact cars are 21 years old. SUV or Sedan cars, 23 years. For luxury cars, it is 25 years.
Yes, every vehicle comes with standard comprehensive insurance and 24/7 roadside assistance for added peace of mind. An excess amount may apply in the event of an accident and a police report is required for all insurance claims.
Yes! Zero deposit cars are available but only on selected models. With zero deposit, no upfront security deposit is charged. However, your credit/debit card must have sufficient available credit to cover potential damages, fines, tolls, fuel or any losses during the rental. For cars that do require a deposit, it's fully refundable after you drop off the car.
No, Salik toll charges are not included in the rental cost. You'll be charged the actual Salik toll amount plus an administrative fee of AED 1.5 per transaction.
You are fully responsible for all traffic fines incurred during your rental period. If you receive a fine exceeding AED 350, an administrative fee of 15% of the fine amount will also apply.
No, fuel is not included in the rental price. You'll receive the car with a certain fuel level and you're expected to return it at the same level. If you return it with less fuel, fuel charges will apply.

The security deposit is credited to your SD Wallet within 2-3 days of returning the car. From there, you have two options. One is to claim the refund via the SelfDrive app and it's refunded to your original card within 30 working days of returning the car. Another option is to leave it as SDCredit. It stays in your wallet and can be reused as the security deposit for future rentals automatically. The deposit can only be returned to your original payment method.
Daily mileage allowance, basic insurance coverage, 24/7 roadside assistance, standard maintenance and VAT (5%).
In case of an accident, obtain a police report as it is required for all insurance claims. If the accident was not your fault, no excess will be charged and a replacement vehicle may be provided if needed. If the car is a total loss, a similar replacement vehicle will be arranged. For breakdowns, contact our 24/7 roadside assistance team.
